Developed curriculum for sixteen-week course (UCRS 1000: Exploring Leadership) offered to new students entering the University. Curriculum development required researching Best Practices of first year programs around the country, in addition to understanding current literature on student retention. Organized and ran a task force of eight university stakeholders who, based on my research, helped select and sequence specific course content. Developed a comprehensive resource binder used by all instructors. Recruited, selected, and trained 50 faculty and staff, each who taught a section during fall semester 2010. Coordinated on going training opportunities for instructors and provided weekly communications. Directed activity for $1.9 million Title III grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. The grant was aimed at strengthening student learning through the development of student support services and a comprehensive tracking program to alert counselors and faculty when a student is having difficulty with classes. Responsibilities included overseeing expenditure of funds; coordinating various campus partners in order to meet grant deliverables on time; coordinating assessment data, used for reporting progress to the U.S. Department of Education; serving as grant representative on numerous campus committees; and supervision of three other grant staff members.
