    • EMS Clinical Training & Staff Development Manager
      • Jan 2013 - Apr 2018

It was my responsibility to develop clinical and field internship education objectives for students enrolled in the Paramedic, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician Programs (approximately 200-250 students annually) at Grady Health System. I facilitated clinical education lectures to present and explain clinical education objectives and expectations. Thereafter I evaluated compliance and clinical competency using software developed (third party) for students to document all patient contacts. In addition to the above, I was responsible for reporting clinical concerns to the Paramedic Accreditation Committee. The Grady Paramedic Program at GHS is one of less than 20 CAAHEP accredited Programs in Georgia; it is the first hospital-based ambulance service in Georgia to achieve this high honor. All clinical and didactic objectives have been approved by the Accreditation Committee and endorsed by Program Medical Direction.Grady Emergency Medical Services hosts field education experience for other EMS education institutions (who meet in-state and out-of-state CoAEMSP requirements). The service also hosts EMS immersion experience for Residents and Interns enrolled in various programs at Emory University School of Medicine. I am responsible for coordinating all of these experiences as well. **Completed initial self-study report (ISSR) for CAAHEP Accreditation and ***appointed to Program Director of Academy while serving in this role. • EMS Chief Training Officer
      • Jan 2012 - Jan 2013

The EMS Division of Grady Health System had two Chief Training Officers when I held this position. I was charged with the development and delivery of the 2-week new hire orientation (NHO) curriculum. After the didactic course was complete, the new hires were released to the Field Training Officers for 4 weeks of field training. After field training was complete, the new employee returned for credentialing by the Medical Review Panel; I was a member of that panel. As a member of the MRP, I assisted the Medical Director with deciding if the new employee was ready for independent functionality or if remediation was required. When not involved in NHO, I supported the Department of Training and Education by assisting with the facilitation of clinical education for paramedic students; by offering continuing education courses; by facilitated quality improvement training; by performing training needs assessments and gap analyses; and by performing of risk assessments to assist HR with risk management.I was also a NREMT Training Officer and a Georgia State Office of EMS Training Officer; in that role, assisted employees with compliance with re-certification and re-licensing requirements.
