Matthew Jeffries
During my time as a Duty Manager for Pizza Express (Darlington) I worked with a variety of different people. Of those people Clark stands out as one of the waiters who not only provided outstanding service to customers but worked well alongside all of the staff. His relaxed air and willingness to go the extra mile for the customer meant that they had a great experience whilst in the restaurant. This was the case even during periods of business or extra pressure on the team.

During my time at Ideagen I had the opportunity to work on a multitude of solutions across a broad range of business domains. The work was varied, contributing to internal and external production solutions, MVPs, and creating proof-of-concept applications. A part of the job was to perform ‘firefighting’ when and where required. This involves jumping in at short notice with Strategic Development teams to offer advice and guidance and possibly integrating with the team for a period to meet a deadline. With variety has come exposure to a great deal of technology stacks and allowed me to attain a broad range of skills. My focus in the last 2 years was predominantly with the front-end, more specifically researching Micro Frontend architecture, however, my skills are not limited to this area. I have produced multiple proof-of-concept applications, MVPs, provided thorough documentation, given presentations, led meetings, and given guidance to colleagues, strategic development teams, stakeholders, and senior management. I helped to define strategies and shape the architecture of the next generation of web application at Ideagen.

Web Developer

Nov 2013 - Jan 2016
Developing and maintaining ASP.NET MVC C# web applications and Java Script applications using Microsoft Visual Studio. The largest and most challenging project I was involved with was creating an e-commerce system for PJA Distribution's sister company Pea Soup Digital. I was one of the three members of the core team who created this application over 12 months. I also had the privilege of leading a project to create an Intranet application including a project management platform and company rolodex for PJA Distribution which was successfully deployed. When the business moved premises I helped to implement an internal network for the business including installing new; computers, cables, wall sockets, patch panels, switches, servers, RAID array, routers, roaming wireless network and PoE telephone network.
