As a family business manufacturing furniture primarily for the education and hospitality sectors, as well as bespoke bedrooms, kitchens, and a range of children’s furniture, it was routine to have involvement in most daily aspects of company. As a designer, my key roles were the measuring of rooms at sites, generating accurate 2D & 3D layouts with rendered visuals of both the room and products, many of which were highly bespoke. Technical drawings were also produced for manufacture, which I was also involved in during summer months. As well as working in the factory, I was frequently part of site deliveries and installations, often as a driver. Managing installations at both commercial and residential sites, and liaising with clients, became a substantial aspect of the job during summer months. Other design roles included creating and maintaining marketing materials for different elements of the business, including print and digital content. Show less

As an up-and-coming price comparison search engine with an enormous database of products, my job at Bikmo was split into two key roles. Managing one of the world’s largest databases of cycling products, and working with developers and creative teams to design, test and implement features, interface refinements and tools was a substantial aspect of my work. I also worked as part of the creative team, generating graphical media to populate the website and create rich print media. Tell Bikmo what bike you've got and we'll narrow down search results according to what fits your bike, then show you where to buy for the best price online or locally. Or just search for bikes, components, kit and clothing from the worlds top brands, at your favourite retailers, for the best price online or locally. Search less, spend less, ride more. Created by a diverse team of bike geeks with a passion for simplicity, technology and clean design. Show less

During my year in industry for university, I was responsible for designing and modifying street furniture such as benches, tables and security bollards. Primary jobs included concept generation, design refinement and project management. Additionally, I would liaise with customers regarding orders and design changes, and suppliers to ensure products were produced as specified, and take product photos for promotional media.
