Clark was promoted in 2013 and asked to launch a new newscast in addition to duties as an investigative reporter. Clark's series of more than 40 stories called "DSS: The System Failed" forced the resignation of the State Director of the South Carolina Department of Social Services. The reporting was honored with a 2015 Alfred I. DuPont baton from Columbia University and a 2015 Sigma Delta Chi award from the Society of Professional Journalists.
