I worked with big data that details crash and transportation information. The work usually involved finding trends or showing the effectiveness of safety preventative measures in the area and at large. The computer programs I worked with mainly are: SAS, Excel, and R, although I am proficient in others (see skills section below). I work on projects under the supervision of the two head Statisticians at the University of Michigan Transportation Institute (Paul Green and Carol Flannagan). I usually worked independently or with one or two other people. I'm most recently worked on two projects contracted by Ford assessing safety measures and local driving habits. http://www.cmisst.org/ http://www.umtri.umich.edu/news.php Show less

I taught bi-weekly labs for a beginning Statistics course (STATS 250), and held office hours outside of class for students needing extra assistance. The course included an introduction to statistical computer programs (mainly SPSS), statistical theory and concepts. I graded homeworks and exams. The lectures were self-designed and followed materiel guidelines and advice from class instructors. I handled referrals for the tangible needs of families and students within Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti schools, and managed a database that recorded students health information. I organized special events at the schools that brought the resources of local charity programs to families in need. Events included: SVS vision mobile eyes, Christmas food/clothing drives, LensCrafter's ONE day events, and health educational/motivational speakers. My position was within RAHS (the Regional Alliance for Healthy Schools). Show less
