•Anatomical Dissections•Tutor of Neuroanatomy The Anatomical Tutors of University of Bologna are the only Italian Academic reality to practice the art of dissection. They carefully individuate the anatomical structures and show them to the 1st and 2nd year medical students, to allow them to learn the real Anatomy already studied on the books. They also organize anatomical laboratories to improve the students' knowledges: dissection of the swine's heart, laboratories of superficial anatomy, arterial pulses, palpation of lymphnodes. They are divided into different groups according to the anatomical regions:Neuro Team, Thorax Team, Abdominal Team and Locomotor Team.Their motto is 'HIC MORS GAUDET SUCCURRERE VITAE' to underline the importance and their deep respect to the great generosity of donating the body to the Science. • Gross Summer Anatomy Course
      • Jun 2015 - Aug 2015

•Anatomy course at NYU •Improving Anatomical Knowledges •Learning to dissect •Learning to make sutures The summer anatomy course at NYU School of Medicine, directed by Dr. Michael O’Guin and Assistant Professor David Howard, is organized in three parts: the dissection of head and neck (three weeks), the dissection of upper limb and thorax (2 weeks), the dissection of lower limb, abdomen and pelvis (2 weeks); at the end of each part I attend a theoretical-practical exam: my final grade is A. We were two people for each cadaver to dissect the different parts. This course allows me to integrate my theoretical knowledge of the Anatomy with the practical one, learning the practice of dissection. It gives to me the ability to distinguish the different structures, their position and anatomical relationships, their consistency and their shape. Now I’m able to independently dissect, to correctly use the different instruments, to recognize the different anatomical structures. In this course I also learn to make the sutures. Show less

      • Apr 2015 - Apr 2015

•Acquiring practical skills •Learning the relation with patients Famulus Nursing is a project directed by SCOME Medical Education of Bologna (one of the areas of SISM). This is a stage for med students of the first two years, in which a nurse tutor teaches to his med student the different skills of his profession. Thanks to this experience I learn to measure the blood pressure, use the oximeter, do the blood sampling, put a catheter, put a drip, read the medical records, do subcutaneous and intradermal stings, use the glucometer, maneuvers of positioning the patient, and I see to do an ECG. I also understand the doctor-patient relationship and the doctor-nurse one, I attend to the Physiatrists’ meetings for deciding the therapies, and the physiotherapy of the patients. This experience allows me to enter in the hospital world, to relate with the patients and to acquire new practical skills. Show less

•Observing the Neuropathologist's work Thanks to the project 'Urop' I spent one week next to Dr. Roncaroli, neuropathologist. I could see and analyze with him lots of histological slides, in particular Glioblastoma, Meningioma, Schwannoma, Neurofibromatosis, Medulloblastoma, Limbic Encephalitis, Retinoblastoma, Lymphoblastoma, muscle, nerve and pituitary pathologies. I could observe brain's cut up for the Brain Tumour Tissue Bank, created by himself and supported by the Charity BRTC, used for Brain's Tumour and Parkinson's disease research. At the end I was invited to the theatre to see the removal of a GBM in the frontal lobe. Show less

    • Rapresentative School Students
      • Oct 2011 - Oct 2012

I was elected Representative School Students with other three students, and Member of the School board of this High School, which has 1400 students. This role required a leadership attitude and an organizational skill. We organized two school assemblies: the first one in one of the most important theatre of Verona with the theme 'Immigration, advantage or disadvantage'; the second one with the theme 'Young people and Drugs'. Both events were managed by two guests, who introduced a dibate, after watching an inherent movie. We organized two school days self-managed by the students, that included cultural, sports, artistic activities, meetings, conferences, tournaments, and all that courses which showed the different passions/hobby of the students. In those two days we also put in place the 'Messedaglia's got Talent'. We created the school sweatshirts of that year and, at the end, we were the first students who organized the prom in the greatest palace of Verona: 'Gran Guardia'.This event now is set by the most important schools of Verona with the participation of municipality.
