Mentors of the Stipendium Hungaricum Mentor Network assist the higher educational integration of freshman students that are coming to Hungary with Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship by providing a mentor pair to them. The mentors' responsibility is to assist their mentees' administrative and educational tasks and to help them in getting used to Hungarian transportation, culture, and norms. The proposal of the extension research group of the Mais Saúde Program (CNPq / UFOP) is to transform the epidemiological data of the results of public health research, mainly, into hypertension, diabetes and respiratory diseases, which are prevalent diseases in the Ouro Preto population, in actions that add technical information to drug treatment, valuing the orality of traditional knowledge (medicinal plants) linked to therapeutic modernity, through reflection, of everyone involved in the teaching-learning process. We work with the community in the form of lectures, informative pamphlets, residential assistance and meetings.

Extension Project - Complementary Integrative Practices PIC - UFOP

The Complementary Integrative Practices (PIC) project of the Mais Saúde Program of the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP - BRAZIL) aims to use other health therapies to prevent or cure diseases. These practices include complex medical systems and therapeutic resources, called by the World Health Organization (WHO) traditional and complementary or alternative medicine. In the Medicinal Plants sector in which I was involved, the focus was to rescue home gardens, organic planting and especially to rescue the traditional use of medicinal plants. In this project, we worked with the local community and took through booklets and lectures integrative practices on cultivation, organic cultivation, medicinal plants, their benefits, food safety, and food security.

Project scholarship supported by FAPEMIG research.Research related to organic planting, medicinal plants and analysis of nutrients, bioactive compounds, minerals, antioxidants and the like. During 4 years, we analyzed different samples of medicinal plants and prepared articles. This project also had the objective of reaching out to small farmers in the region.
