Bio
Shireen Damghani
Clarice is a dedicated and multi-talented Designer. I had the pleasure of meeting Clarice while working at GAP Inc, many years ago. At the time we did not work together, but I could sense her focus, dedication, and high sense of style & taste. Our paths crossed at Genuine Kids soon after and then just recently again while the brand was being transferred to Target. Clarice's style and talent is apparent in her hand: detailed drawings she keeps in her mini note books from her shopping and travel trips to Europe. She is a sparkling personality and treats her team of many different levels and experiences with respect. She has always given me clear direction as a Textile CAD Designer on what she wants. She gives me and other designers who work for her creative leeway and constructive criticism on how we can do better while never undermining my skills. Clarice encourages me to fulfill my responsibilities in a hands off, yet managerial manner. And as a result, I feel free to produce more and be of service to her and the success of her team. I hope to work for/with Clarice again in the near future.

Maurices brand is known as the leader in hometown American fashion. Founded in Duluth, MN in 1931, maurices has grown steadily to a corps of 1000 stores by providing women of all ages the clothing, accessories and the congenial shopping experience they have come to rely on to fuel their ever-evolving lives in small towns across America. I joined maurices at a time when the company was ready to harness its vision internally. As part of a creative start up within a venerable brand, I helped to form the design office in New York City and oversaw the Sweaters and Fashion Knits divisions. In response to the breakneck pace of change in the apparel manufacture today, I spearheaded design partnerships with existing and new vendors overseas. This vendor innovation approach cut weeks, even months, out of development time, allowing us to be even more competitive with trend. Show less
