Strong advocate for higher education in and out of prison. Involved with the documentaries "Zero Percent" and " First Degree" ,which emphasizes the importance of education, and the correlation it has on the recidivism rate. Higher education has directly impacted my life, and has compeled me to do public speaking. Hudson Link has given me a platform to spread the message. this has sharpened my ability and kept me in practice for speaking. Strong advocate for higher education in and out of prison. Involved in the making of "Dramatic Escape", a documentary based on the transformative power of theater in prison. This documentary follows the men of RTA (Rehabilitation Through the Arts) as they put on the play " A Few Good Men". This play captures the parallels between men in prison, and those in the military. The codes that are observed by both populations are so similar, and outstanding that it creates dialogue amongst those who experience the production. The Goldcrest team followed the men on and off stage, through the ups and downs of prison life and I got to be a primary guide. We have had many public viewings. A panel consisting of myself, other cast members, the director, and producers of the film hold Q and A's at the end. We have been to several college campuses, theaters in Manhattan, the New york Library and are open to come wherever this message will serve purpose.

Duties include: supervising 13-17 year olds male youth placed by the justice system at Lincoln Hall. I also supervise 3 to 4 counselors to ensure that the tenets of the program are carried out efficiently. Recently, my commitment has expanded to include organizing off property trips to various colleges, theaters, and Broadway shows. I've also taken the young men to Goldcrest post, a production company. these off prop trips have allowed these young men to broaden their world view. Recently my title has expanded. I am now the "Creative Arts Specialist" here at Lincoln Hall. My duties now also includes creating new artistic was to express what one feels. I have found that by allowing the young men to create with their hands something they know they will have to explain, unlocks the imagination. we have be quite successful tearing away layers of trauma by building with purpose.
