Neil Burton

We brought Clare over from the UK in July 2015, to help shore up the business in Australia, on the back of recent departures of key talent and the loss of a large client. Clare's understanding of, and experience in, Mash, from her 3.5 years in our London office, made her the best option to rebuild our Australian business around and, on reflection, I could not be more happy with the impact she's had in our business today. Clare far surpassed my expectations in regards to what she was able to achieve in her time at Mash. Clare completely rebuilt our operations department and changed the way we deliver for our clients. Clare mentored our new recruits and taught them the skills and great habits, rounding them into exceptional talent who are critical to our business development today. And Clare helped shape the current leadership team, implementing structures and process that gave the leaders full transparency on the performance of the business and the team. On a personal note, I could not be more grateful to Clare for uprooting her life in the UK to come to Australia and help me rebuild the business. In the two years that Clare was here the business almost doubled in size, delivering work I never knew we were capable of, to a standard I could only aspire to. Clare made it fun, for me, the team and for our clients and her finger-prints are all over the business that continues to thrive today. I can not recommend Clare highly enough, for any role, which suits her skill set. I would have zero hesitation in recommending Clare for future roles and would take her back in a heart-beat if she wanted to come back.

Clare Brind. aka Brindy - if you are looking to work with someone who is switched on, smart, funny, clever, charming to those around her and her clients, good at thinking on her own feet, able to manage a team, then talk to Clare - she knows some good people. Or just work with her instead, seeing as though she is all of the above. Clare Brind - people don't come much nicer than her.

For the last 10 years, Mash have been UK-wide specialists in providing personality profiled promotional staff, corporate event staff and in-store sales staff to the UK's biggest and best brands, on a number of award-winning campaigns. In 2013, we were shortlisted for no less than four industry awards, and won Bronze in the Event Services and Logistics Supplier of the Year at the Eventia Awards - a category covering all suppliers to the event industry. Having developed a unique, digitally-led yet personalised staff recruitment model, we have enabled our account teams to focus on delivering exceptional client service - and while staffing is, and always will be, our core business, we offer added value services including campaign consultancy and reporting, venue strategy/booking, logistics, bespoke research, ROI modelling and production. While we have offices in London, Glasgow, Sydney and Melbourne, I am based in our London office, where we implement experiential, corporate and retail sales campaigns across the UK and Europe. Organising and managing fundraising events that included a range of sporting events, career development and training events for the media and advertising industry. Ensuring each event was cost effective and brought in the required revenue as part of the overall fundraising strategy. I also ensured that each event was ‘on brand’ and relevant to the industry. My skills developed here were excellent organisation and negotiation skills, the ability to interact internally and externally at all levels in a confident and positive manner and to help build strong relationships for NABS. I have also developed a good eye for opportunities in order to improve existing events and maximise income stream as well as the ability to manage, often very small, budgets for events. I have learned to be a team player with excellent attention to detail. I have had to continue the ability to multi task and work effectively under pressure. Show less

The flagship magazine title is Square Mile magazine, which is published ten times per year and the secondly title is Hedge magazine, which is published six times per year. As there was previously no one employed in this role it was my job to create all the procedures and set-up the marketing and event processes independently. It was my responsibility to create and manage marketing and event initiatives. I have learned how work on my own and manage myself and my own time, as well as working with and alongside other departments. I can work to my own initiative and have learned first-rate negotiation skills. Being such a small company and department, I have a large amount of responsibility and am a key decision maker in a range of areas. I have gained some invaluable experience in areas including marketing, digital and online, events, sponsorship and branding. Show less

Year-long work placement for experiential marketing agency, as part of University degree. This experience proved invaluable for developing my communication and organisational skills, while putting into practice the marketing skills I had learned at university. I gained experience in managing people in a working environment, and showed my worth as a valuable team player. The job also required exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work well under pressure and excellent time management skills. Show less
