In this role, I work cooperatively with other teachers and staff to ensure awareness is attained and understood in planning, management and assessment. Furthermore, I began to build a global network with colleagues from a variety of different countries and cultures which developed my transferable skills such as good communication, organisation, adaptability and perhaps even problem-solving talents. Moreover, I plan on a weekly, termly, and yearly basis to provide a balanced and accessible education for Year 6 in line with the Cambridge Curriculum. This also requires me to create learning material and resources that are appropriate and tailored to the learners to provide equal access to education. As as a result, I have expanded skills in digital learning through the use of Google Site, Google Classroom, etc to make resources that are engaging yet accessible to all learns and in line with the learning objectives. I have experience with teaching English, Maths, Science and Character Education with EAL students where I adapted to overcome language barriers, new cultures and different ways of doing things to align with their lifestyle. Also, I held afterschool activities to enhance the learning opportunity in a school setting. Regular face-to-face parent-teacher meetings were also completed every term to discuss students' progress and targets. In addition, I was also involved in the preparation of the school’s NEASC inspection, learning the expectations and standards necessary to excel. Finally, I ensure to maintain continuous professional development by keeping record of lesson outcomes, feedback from colleagues and independent research to adapt my teaching to the culture of a new country and community.
