I was appointed as Community Fundraiser in April but was later chosen to lead on Corporate Fundraising due to my background in LCC and previous work experience. Along with the Community Fundraiser I was tasked with attracting new sponsors for events and running and managing events. My events included a memorial service on the River Mersey and a hugely successful ladies day event at Formby Hall. In addition I represented St Joseph’s Hospice at afternoon tea events held in local small businesses. I also had responsibility for managing the budget for Corporate Fundraising and ensuring, where possible, all events were financially successful. Show less

    • Course Coordinator/Project Administrator
      • May 1999 - Jul 2004

My main role here was as joint Project Administrator for a new project run in conjunction with the Job Centres to retrain customers in order for them to gain experience in the technical side of computers. This involved responsibility for all travel arrangements for up to 120 customers; some based with us and some who are out on placement. I was required to renew bus passes and reimburse cash for petrol receipts, some of the customers we have can be a little difficult, especially as money is involved, and a patient and understanding manner was required at all times. I was responsible for all the monies taken on the project and for keeping an up to date spreadsheet of all money coming in and going out. I was also called upon to assist on reception when short staffed, a role I particularly enjoyed. I was initially employed by Connect as a Course Co-ordinator/Administrator which involved organising internet training for small – medium businesses based in the Merseyside area Show less

Whilst at Hugh Baird I spent one year working as an Administrative Assistant for both the School Liaison Co-ordinator and the Marketing Co-ordinator. In both posts I was required to organise my own workload and be able to work to tight deadlines. Show less
