Aug 2019 - May 2021
This research focuses on the potential to create a differential diagnosis for cystic fibrosis in human skeletal remains based on paleopathology and osteology. No such research has been undertaken previously by anthropologists, so this work is based on literature reviews of radiological publications. Koch Hospital Bioarchaeological Research
-
Jan 2019 - Apr 2021
This research is focused on the osteological analysis of highly fragmentary, commingled human remains from a historical site in St. Louis, Missouri. Using knowledge of paleopathology and osteology, I am reassociating remains into individuals using both visual and osteometric methods of pair matching. This aids in the elucidation of the minimum number of individuals while providing a new perspective into the history of epidemiology in America during the epidemics of the 1800s and 1900s.
