Account Manager
-
Mar 2018 - Nov 2018
My promotion to Account Manager resulted in me taking on more responsibility. I began leading content production for social media and digital advertising. I created, managed, and led social media campaigns. Highlights included the launch of UberEats in Wellington; the social media launch and management for the new creative institution, Te Auaha; and a campaign for the build up to and throughout the CubaDupa festival. Creating and scheduling all digital communication across various social platforms. I was responsible for daily engagement with online communities and issue resolution. Continuing in the Events PR sector, I assisted in the development and maintaining of key timelines, detailed communication calendars, reporting, and meeting partner expectations. I contributed to the marketing objectives and strategies and achieving overall organisational communication strategies against KPIs. I am proficient in video production and I worked closely with our in-house videographer to develop a process allowing Sputnik to deliver videos for social media cost effectively. My other tasks included writing articles for OnMAS, a magazine we produced in-house for a client and conducting qualitative research projects to determine target audiences for campaigns.

Client Advocate
-
Sep 2015 - Mar 2016
My promotion to Client Advocate provided me with a great deal more responsibility as well as client contact. I was given solo projects to plan and manage throughout, including managing apprentices to assist when needed and then finally to report the results to the client. As part of the consumer team, I managed long lead women's lifestyle and niche media. My role in this team involved forming and maintaining strong relationships with the journalists in my media in order to secure coverage for our range of consumer clients. In taking charge of forward feature tracking, I ensured we were aware of and submitting all relevant features. This included organising a small team and ensuring comment was drafted and signed off prior to the submission deadline. My other tasks included social media management, including drafting and implementing content across several platforms as well as monitoring those platforms, responding to customers, and dealing with any issues. I also managed and created content for blogs and websites, and wrote scripts for videos.

PR Apprentice
-
Sep 2014 - Sep 2015
In this job I covered all aspects of being a public relations practitioner. I worked with clients in a variety of sectors including food, homeware, clothing and destination. My job entailed journalist liaison, which I found comes naturally to me due to my good communication skills. Further tasks included coordinating product placement as well as placing press releases. During my tenure in this role I built up a good relationship with a plethora of journalists. My writing skills consistently improved through writing press release, briefs, and social media content for the brand platform I manage. I was also involved in all aspects of event organisation and other requests clients may have relating to those events.

Work Experience
-
Jan 2014 - Jun 2014
I was involved in work experience with Citypress, where I extended my knowledge in digital media and involved myself in the preparation for pitching to prospective clients. I have also encountered some crisis management first hand and was able to witness the procedures used to mitigate crises. I have also been a part of the Citypress Create team, where I had the opportunity to help brainstorm campaigns for clients and actively engaged in client and customer research. I learnt how to creatively display research and form client-facing documents.

Undergraduate Public Relations and Digital Communications
-
Sep 2011 - Jun 2014
First Class Honours Finding myself drawn to both of the main aspects of the course, I feel I naturally excelled in communications and enjoyed developing my knowledge of how to use and develop social media platforms alongside designing a successful website. My dissertation, “Crisis Management in the Digital Era: Social media and the effects of instantaneous communication; how has it changed the face of crisis communication?” looked at the vast changes in the widely connected environment we live in and how people communicate. It also covered public demand for accountability and how organisations perform under these circumstances. This improved my organisation and time management skills and as I interviewed several public relations practitioners I harnessed and grew my communication and observational skills. I received the Top Performer Award for achieving the best results within my degree.
