My role is to compile estimates for Partitions, Drylining, Ceilings and Glazed Screens from either a BOQ or specification and drawings, submitting a detailed cost breakdown of the work. Follow up tenders submitted to establish where secured and our competitiveness, including negotiation to order stage and pre-contract meetings.As an Estimator / Bid Manager I am concerned with getting the best price that will win the contract in a competitive bidding situation, while ensuring that the contract can be carried out profitably. I like to think the best price isn’t always the lowest one, but offers the client quality of the service as well as cost. Effort is made to ensure when bidding for new work, a quality submission is included along with an estimated price to give the company the best chance of success.

The job involves assessing material, labour and equipment required and analysing different quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.Working from a bill of quantities or just a set of drawings to build up a lump sum value as in the case of Wigan Life Centre whereby I undertook a detailed take-off submitted my own BOQ fully priced then negotiated and secure the contract with a value of £2.3 million.Project and commercially managed the build from start to completion with the aid of 2 site manager over the course of 15 months, settling the final account at £2.9 million.
