PhD Researcher in RNA Biology, Inflammation and Cancer
-
Dec 2013 - Oct 2019
Translational Control of Cell Cycle and Differentiation Group. Supervisor: Dr. Raúl Méndez. Chronic inflammation is a primary contributing factor to multiple diseases, such as cancer or autoimmune disorders. My PhD Thesis aimed to describe a novel molecular mechanism that promotes the resolution of an inflammatory response. Additionally, I was also co-leading a project that aimed to describe a novel mechanism underlying the development of intestinal diseases (Inflammatory Bowel diseases and Colitis-associated cancer). Main Publications: Suñer and Sibilio et al., eLife 2022; Sibilio and Suñer et al., iScience 2022 Selected publications as co-author: Pascual et al., Sci Adv 2020; Mejías et al., Gastroenterology 2020; Show less

Master Thesis on Proteasomal Function
-
Sep 2012 - Oct 2013
Regulation of the Proteasome Group. Supervisor: Dr. Bernat Crosas. Multiple diseases are caused by an aberrant accumulation of proteins that need to be degraded. Therefore, we need to understand the mechanisms responsible for their degradation, such as the proteasome system. During my master thesis, we described a novel degradation function of the proteasome which is triggered specifically at low temperatures. Main Publication: Isasa and Suñer et al., J. Biol.
