    • Solutions to the social consequences of Pay As You Throw (PAYT)
      • Jun 2020 - Nov 2020

http://www.verdicite.fr/Verdicité is a consulting agency in waste management and reduction, located in Montreuil, Bordeaux and Lyon. My internship focused on « Pay As You Throw » (PAYT), the application of "polluter pays" principle to households generating waste. In other words, the more the customer produces waste, the more he pays, which encourages him to reduce his waste. I was in charge to find economic and regulation solutions to tackle the social consequences of PAYT on the poorest families (surveys, benchmarks, etc.) Moreover, I could strengthen my skills on municipalities functioning and participated in several missions : waste characterization, consulting (food waste) and writing of "Local plans for waste reduction" (PLPDMA).

    • Assessment of microfibers geographical distribution in the environment
      • May 2019 - Jul 2019

https://scripps.ucsd.edu/Scripps Institution of Oceanography, also referred as to SIO or Scripps, is one of the most famous research center in marine and earth science. Along with researchers in oceanography and other interns, I tried to assess microfibers geographical distribution all over the globe, from seawater in the Arctic ocean to air in indoors environnements. I also conducted experiments about plastic photodegradation into micro and nano plastics. During this internship, I acquired a strong theoric understanding about environmental and sanitary stakes of microfibers and microplastics, while also getting to know how research works from a practical point of view. This experience contributed in shaping my scientific knowledge and rigor as well as developing my critical mind and initiative.During my journey, I participated in beach cleanups with the NGO Surfrider Foundation in San Diego.
