𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: Our client, the Denison University Food Pantry, asked us to investigate food insecurity on campus through information provided from prior semesters in which the food pantry on campus has been open. Our goal was to search for outliers within the pantry users that distinguished them from the total student body. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞: I was responsible for pulling, cleaning, matching, and analyzing data in order to find signifiers among pantry user variables that connected them to the use of the pantry. Following the investigation and analysis, my team designed a report and presented our findings to both the food pantry team as well as Denison faculty. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬: A multitude of factors were found to have some trends among pantry users, however the sample size restricted us from any bivariate analysis. We did investigate variation among visits across all semesters in which the pantry services have been available, drawing us to the conclusion that the pantry can expect approximately 50 unique visitors in the coming semesters. 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: We offered solutions to the pantry's troubles with data collection as well as potential outliers to investigate further with concerns around why students are utilizing the food pantry and how prominent food insecurity is on campus. Our clients were impressed with the depth we were able to reveal given the data limitations and our "analysis will help inform decisions moving forward". Show less
