If you are a parent whose child is about to be taught by Claire Fletcher for the first time, you have so much to look forward to and by the end of the year, to be appreciative of her for! From experience as a parent I can tell you, that the year will start really well and then after that, just get better and better! As a parent of two children taught by Claire, we cannot express enough the value and importance of Claire's contribution to our children's education. Claire is a supreme professional. Her authoritative and disciplined approach to teaching, is coupled with her innate ability to quickly understand each student in her class. From then on she engages with them in the manner that has them working to their optimum. She is always inspiring in her lessons and is a strong motivator of her students. Claire sets high standards and drives her students in the best way, to achieve and exceed them. Claire deservedly demands the greatest respect. At times some of her decisions and approaches may not appeal to her students but you just know that her experience and judgement is such that she is genuinely working in each students best interests. On a personal level as a parent, we always found Claire to be very approachable. She genuinely cares! If there is an issue or challenge to be discussed - for good or for bad - Claire's communication skills are open, honest and frank. As parents we never felt rushed when meeting with her. Claire identifies issues, analyses then and then proposes a set of actions, which she agrees and shares with parents to resolve the matter. More importantly, Claire stays on top the situation, continues to monitor etc. Claire Fletcher is a credit to the teaching profession. We were so sorry when she left the school that my children attend. Not only because we have a younger child coming through the grades but also because she inspired other teaching staff around her and the whole school benefited from her inspiring professionalism and personality.
