I make sure the day to day of the programme runs smoothly, copywrite and co-ordinate communications and I support fundraising campaigns to promote the work of the charity I've improved the efficiency of backend operations and developed resources such as course information packs, graphic design assets and streamlined systems to save on time and improve the customer experience as the organisation grows. The Discover Heritage Awards take place every 2 years to recognise excellence in cultural and natural heritage interpretation within the UK. I have been working alongside a mentor judge to visit and assess shortlisted heritage sites for the 2019 awards. Our reports and recommendations will be used by the final selection panel to decide a winner for each award category. I have been selected as a Site Judge for the 2019 and 2021 awards. This Heritage Lottery Fund project established a permanent archive and a public engagement programme to capture and preserve information about the working lives and community of Stratford Village between 1890 and 1990. I attended a number of workshops and training sessions before carrying out research using local history archives and online sources along with conducting and transcribing oral history interviews. The Gallery is a major arts venue for the southwest of the UK, showcasing the work of contemporary artists from around the world. I worked as part of a small team to deliver a free, public, exhibitions programme of around 15 annual exhibitions over several gallery spaces. I developed exhibition content, interpretation and literature including copywriting and proofreading for publication. I worked with many artists, curators and external organisations to deliver a busy exhibitions programme and managed a team of volunteers, work placement students and temporary staff. While at The Gallery I adapted a major exhibition 'Lucienne Day:Living Design' for national tour and established a framework for evaluation and collecting visitor statistics to inform future development and practices. Hampshire Cultural Trust are a leading cultural charity responsible for 23 accredited museums and arts venues across the county of Hampshire. I was responsible for the daily operations and visitor experience at two venues: Westbury Manor Museum and Bursledon Windmill. I acted up as interim Curator for a period of four months during the restoration and re-interpretation of Bursledon Windmill as part of a £94K Heritage Lottery Fund. I contributed to the re-interpretation of the site and worked closely with the learning and engagement team to develop content and create a comprehensive interpretation strategy. Originally a County Council museums service, I was selected as one of 12 members of Hampshire Cultural Trust Values Group, representing the visitor facing side of the organisation during its transition to independent charitable trust. I handled online sales for this specialist academic bookshop, using my attention to detail to work seamlessly across multiple software platforms and report on sales figures. With an unpredictable workload and often tight deadlines, I created standardised policies, designed a records management procedure and streamlined processes to improve efficiency by 32% and reduce the 'man-hours' required.
