Student Experience and Employability Intern

Aug 2018 - Mar 2019
Worked on improving the employability and student experience of students within the School of Chemistry through the leading of employability-specific tutorials, and organising of career events such as the Chemistry Careers Fair. Also responsible for maintaining other school employability provisions, particularly for the industrial placement students, by running regular applications and CV advice surgeries. My aim was to help increase the number of students securing placements, with the idea that students who have had exposure to working in industry will have more positive outcomes after graduation. Contributed to the running of various social media accounts of the school, as well as running the school blog. The blog has a variety of contributors including students and academic staff. Set up new relationships with chemical companies to arrange site tour visits, so that a number of our students could gain insight into how their Chemistry degree can be applied in industry. Piloted this scheme with two site visits, with the hope to maintain these relationships to set up yearly site visits for our students. Show less
