  Altura Group Pty Ltd is an Australian project development company formed in 2016 to meet the growing need for experienced pumped hydro project development. Our first project, 242MW Goat Hill Pumped Hydro in South Australia is in advanced stages of development and preparing for an investment decision in 1H 2020 We are advancing a 1GW / 10GWh portfolio of projects at strategic locations in Victoria, NSW and Queensland at the right scale (300-400MW) in locations with strong MLF & access to renewable resources & load Up to 22GW of new utility storage is forecast to 2036 (AEMO 2018 ISP) and pumped hydro is most mature and lowest cost form of utility storage. Energia Austral (Xstrata/Glencore Origin Joint Venture)

  Secondment from Origin Energia Austral Joint Venture in Chile (Origin / Xstrata Copper, Glencore), responsible for the transformation of a 950MW hydro complex in Aysen, Chile. The 950MW Energia Austral complex is located 500km south of the Central Interconnected System. During the time as development manager, the project was transformed from a 800km overhead transmission line through Chilean Patagonia subsea HVDC transmission corridor which significantly reduced the social and environmental footprint of the project and resulted in a project with improved economics with lower risk and resource intensity. Significant redesign of the projects core scheme through optimisation of headworks, tunnelling and overall configuration produced a project of significantly lower risk profile and environmental footprint while improving project economics.
