Youth Development Facilitator

During the initial three months, I conducted a community analysis to identify needs and resources related to youth development, which served as an evidence-based platform to develop projects. Relationship development preceded and intertwined projects to ensure cultural appropriateness and develop trust. Projects included: life-skills and leadership workshops, environmental education activities, and curriculum development. I also collaborated with the community development association to discuss community planning that promotes healthy foundations for youth. Graduate Intern for the Global Leadership Institute

While working as a Graduate Assistant, assigned to the Dean of the School of Social Work, I conducted biographical research in Athens and Atlanta archive libraries on instrumental leaders of the 1950-60s U.S. Civil Rights Movement. These individuals, unsung soldiers, are being recognized in the Foot Soldiers Project for Civil Rights Studies at the University of Georgia for their leadership and bravery in Student Sit-Ins Movement.
