Research Associate III
-
Aug 2023 - Present
As an RAIII, I continue to hone the skills I've gained as an RAII but I have more responsibilities in addition to my projects on lipid-mediated targeted drug delivery and elucidating the mechanisms behind heterogeneous aging of cells in middle-aged populations. These additional responsibilities include:- Contributing to maintenance of the tissue culture area and other general lab maintenance- Planning experiments and analyzing data exclusively independently- Creating reports of overall project progress for presentation and to establish a foundation for future work on the project Show less

Jan 2021 - Mar 2022
I research the causative agents of aging with my mentor, Dr. Anthony Grillo, Ph.D., using Mus musculus domesticus, Caenorhabditis elegans, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae models. Some of my daily tasks include: - Dissected yeast to contribute data to replicative lifespans - Monitored and cared for our murine colony containing various strains - Scheduled and dissected mice for tissue collection and fixation - Ran SDS-PAGE, transferred to membranes, and probed western blots with various antibodies - Conducted RT-qPCR to quantify changes in mRNA levels - Carried out various molecular biological assays utilizing animal tissues - Genotyped new mice litter with PCR and eartagged for identification- Contributed to a safe and welcoming environment Show less
