I've had the pleasure of knowing Citlalli throughout her time with LBSU Associated Students Inc., during which she ensured she uplifted and advocated for social justice. As a leader and peer, she brings tremendous knowledge and much-valued insight and perspective. She is a supportive, caring, and efficient leader. Above all, I was impressed with Citlalli's ability to connect with her constituents and advocate for underrepresented students. Her leadership has inspired many, and Citlalli would be a valuable addition to any position. I feel very privileged to have worked with Citlalli and continue to learn from her as I consider her to be a great friend.

I first had the privilege and honor to work with Citlalli at Cal State Long Beach when she was the AB 540 and Undocumented Student Commissioner in ASI. Citlalli demonstrated her passion for uplifting underrepresented communities and social justice. Through her role, Citlalli explored innovative ways to support the access and retention rates of undocumented students in higher education. One project that I was excited to work closely with Citlalli on was the implementation of the Dream Success Center, one of the undocumented student support services on campus, as a partner within the university's orientation. Citlalli recognized the students' need of such programs and developed this as an outreach strategy to bring awareness to the services offered at the Center. She led and streamlined the discussion with various departments and directors to bring this project to fruition. Because of her advocacy, the Dream Success Center is now embedded into the orientation and the staff have seen an increase of access to first year and transfer students. Citlalli is a passionate, efficient, organized, and an excellent leader. She has my highest recommendation and I am confident she will continue to succeed in any role she chooses to pursue.

In this role I serve as a connector between the community and the magazine due to my knowledge of community organizations, non-profits and student organizations. I am also part of the planning and production of the magazine and I ensure that important and social justice related topics are covered. Most recently I organized and executed the 'Community Town hall with Long Beach Leaders' which focused the conversation around Immigration, Housing, and the 2020 Presidential elections.
