Tersan Shipyard is one of the most active new building and repair yard in Turkey, It primarily focuses on new building projects, especially for Norwegian and Russian Customers/Owners. •Operating Simcenter 3D (NX Nastran) software to carry out structural analysis regarding class rules for ship and shipyard equipment such as cranes, water tanks, eye plates, foundations, beams, silos, and rails. •Taking mid-surfaces of geometries, fixing and editing models with Rhino 3D software in order to have them ready for Structural Analysis. •3-D solid modelling of equipment and structure elements such as cranes, beams, profiles, tanks. •Creating some manufacturing drawings and nesting with AutoCAD and some basic equipment modelling with Rhino 3D software. •Preparing block and mega block rotation, lifting, transfer, and support plans. Deciding where to mount the eye plates and what thickness they should be utilizing Cadmatic Hullviewer and E-browser. (Especially for the projects; NB1102 Freezer Stern Factory Trawler, Gadus and NB1105 Arctic Freezer Trawler, Emerald) •Taking 2D sections of frames and side views, part-list reports from Nupas CADMATIC to find the weight and centre of gravity of the blocks with MS Excel. Maritime Montering Turkey is a part of Norwegian Marinacc Group. Mostly concentrates on interior furnishing and decoration of accommodation areas of various types of vessels. Works carried out here include insulation, panelling, wet units, internal deck and top covering, lining and partitions, ceilings, furniture and equipment. I was in assistance to the project management team and site workers for the NB 1090 Russian Fishery Freezer Trawler Factory project in Tersan Shipyard. Had the chance to observe ongoing construction processes of the 'Ada Class' Milgem Project Corvettes, as well as keeping eye on production of various parts and equipment for the class 'I' Frigates which were under the preliminary stages of their construction and visited the ' TCG Bayraktar' landing ship (LSTs). I have paid visits to the following departments\factories; - Machining (Turning Lathe, CNC) - Casting (propeller and other pieces from the mould.) - Montage (steel hull blocks of class I Frigates) - Fine sheet metal processing, bending. (For ventilation systems and wardrobes.) - Aluminium works (stairs, drawers, cabinet and apparatus production.) - Pipe sealing controls and double-walled pipe production for the exhaust system. - Welding (welding methods and types such as Submerged, Tig, Mig, Smaw, Fcaw) - HVAC and ventilation. - Boat surface cleaning in the floating dock and drydocking. - Tire and pallet processing factory. I am extremely pleased to have such an experience in the Iargest Shipyard of Istanbul. Here I feel to say I am more than thankful to Turkish Navy, for broadening my horizon in every aspects of shipbuilding and shipyard operations. Show less
