  I am proficient at drafting patterns from sketches, as well as draping from sketches, interpreting the design into the finished garment. I sketch my own designs and other people’s designs, draft or drape the costume, producing them to full completion. I have studied how dancers move to ensure a good fit without movement restriction; is it confining, how the fabrics flow, does the costume have stage presence. I possess a strong knowledge of different fabrics, such as velvet, satin, Lycra, chiffon, organza, taffeta, wools, cottons, linen, and more. I am proficient with a wide knowledge variety of many industrial sewing machines and equipment; I have the ability to do minor maintenance on some machines. I accepted employment in July of 2013 at Schoolhouse Electric & Supply as their Production Sewing Specialist. I was hired to develop a sewing department from the ground up, whereas we would produce Lifestyle Goods. I have worked closely with the Soft Goods Developer and Product team collaborating on designs, executing and developing prototypes, communicating with the sewing team to create products from initial design inception to production completion. This includes a variety of skills, such as: pattern drafting, supervision of cutting, yardage usage, inventory control, sewing and training, writing product specifications, paying close attention to detail and quality, multi-tasking on several projects, producing high-quality products. The sewing department has since grown from one person, to a team of three talented sewing assistants and a sewing coordinator. I am seeking work in the apparel or soft goods product lines where I can utilize my knowledge and skills, collaborating with other creative designers to create quality products.

  I have done Extensive Costume development for dance schools, dance teams, theater, fashion shows, and other productions. I Design and construct Fetish apparel, even Halloween costumes at times. Oversee day to day basic operations; product development, resource fabrics & trims, bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, inventory control, quality control, shipping and receiving, liaison with clients for customer satisfaction. Product development consulting for small garment manufacturers, Supervise and provide quality control in garment production run. Commercial pattern making, design and manufacturing. Extensive pattern making experience, I understand design from conceptualization to completion of actual garment. My Design and pattern skills range from: idea concept, design sketches, working sketch, specification sheets, pattern lay-outs, cutting, sewing, prototype development, fabrication, and resourcing, to the completion of finished garment.

  Met with studio manager and dance instructors to assist with costumes for dance performers in large classes, and also solo performers. Sketched their ideas, met with students to measure, made sample costume for test, produced class costumes for studio.Also altered costumes that were purchased elsewhere to fit dancer better. My costume designs often were given Best Costume awards at Dance Competitions. I produced anywhere from 300 to 500 costumes every year for this studio in a wide range of sizes, and styles.
