- Working as a Primary School teacher in St. Patrick's Boys Castlebar, St. Paul's Brunswick St., and in Drimnagh Castle Primary, I taught students in all subject areas from the ages of 9 to 12. - I also co-ordinated wellbeing campaigns to promote healthy living and exercise in these roles. Through guest speakers, monthly sporting challenges and internal exercise competitions, students were incentivised to move more each day, participate in all sports on offer and to adopt a healthy and balanced diet.- I coached the boys GAA teams and competed in the National Cumann na mBunscol competition, culminating in a memorable day coaching the Drimnagh Castle boys from the sidelines of Croke Park in the finals. - Dealing with students from various socio-economic backgrounds and of different academic levels taught me to appreciate differences in personality and ability, and to adapt my approach accordingly. This added to my interest in further studying psychology and psychometrics, to better understand some of the underlying forces behind behaviour and learning patterns.
