I completed a 14-week, 560 hour internship that meets the therapeutic recreation process as defined by the current NCTRC Job Analysis and meets all requirements for anticipated CTRS certification. I was an intern under the Outpatient Recreational Therapist, working with referred physical disability patients from Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. I also worked 1:1 and in community event settings with veterans through a VA adaptive sports grant. I was able to plan, implement and document on a variety of interventions. These include golf, adaptive archery, aquatic therapy, equine therapy, VA adaptive sport events and 1:1 in home sessions. I have also been able to assess and evaluate patient progress throughout interventions sessions.

As a class support I spent time with a student with intellectual disabilities every week where I helped them reach their goals in the class room by studying the material and assisting them with their homework.
