Global Public Health and Water Brigades at ASU is a service-based organization, and a chapter of Global Brigades, Inc., dedicated to resolving global health disparities through the implementation of sustainable water/public health projects in Honduras, Panama, and Nicaragua. In June 2019, I attended a 7-day Public Health Brigade with Global Brigades. During the week, we built latrines for families in the rural community of Suyapa, trenched for a water pipe, and taught children about waste management and air pollution. As ASU Chapter President, I educated university students about the public health situation in rural communities, directed an executive team of students, and organized fundraisers for our annual brigade to Honduras. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, our brigade was postponed, but I am still continuing my work with GB at ASU. Show less
