Across all social media and web platforms, I report on the stories of the day for a national broadcaster with a great reputation and desire for ever-wider reach. My work involves contacting, researching and corroborating the stories that we report on, and packaging them in such a way as to maintain market-leader status for OTB in a crowded market. We react to stories immediately using our studio setup, and ensure that our take is the first and best available. Examples of my own studio work are available here, here and here. Using CMS systems, as well as back-end social media platforms, I produce, write and report on issues as varied as capital funding for sports in Ireland to the Liam Miller GAA decision; from mental health in sport to high-profile court cases. My writing is clear and concise, with a keen understanding of the necessary tone. I produce a weekend sports programme for Off The Ball on Sundays, where we not only cover live sports, but do a weekly Sunday Paper Review segment, where I am responsible for what is aired, and any potential issues around defamation. I direct the presenter and digital staff as to the stories of the day, ensuring that OTB remains the best in the business of sports journalism. I produce the Keith Andrews Show with the former Republic of Ireland football international. My remit is to direct Keith and provide a different tone to other OTB shows, ensuring that we bring the player’s side on the breaking stories of the week. Almost more importantly, I identify and disseminate the best bits to our social media audience using video editing and podcasting, and time these messages throughout the week for the best numbers, which in turn inform our commercial decisions. Below are studio pieces I either appear in, or have produced. Show less
