I began as a student in the lesson program at Whitemud Equine Learning Centre, and throughout my years I volunteered for various events, such as fundraisers, and as I got older, I began to volunteer with helping the staff prepare the horses for lessons and help instruct young riders in horse care, and how to tack up and down. I was employed as a teacher's assistant for a season, conducting similar duties. I love working with horses, and teaching young people about horses. Field Assistant

Apr 2017 - Sep 2017
As part of my degree at The King's University, I was required to secure a summer internship to gain work experience in the environmental field. I was chosen to be a field assistant to University of Alberta Master's Student, Denyse Dawe, whose project involved a look into the fire ecology of Alberta's endangered Limber pines. I assisted her with gathering data, correctly identifying Limber pine saplings and seedlings, identifying other plants in each plot, assessing the health of mature trees, and crucially, correctly recording data. This experience was formative for me, and I deeply enjoyed the work and environment.
