As WLSSD’s supervisor of electrical maintenance and instrumentation, I work to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of both the electrical and instrumentation systems across all 530 square miles of WLSSD’s operation. I provide long-term planning and budgeting to not only maintain, but also upgrade the equipment and systems required to meet WLSSD’s operational needs. I work with my team to continually consider system improvements that are consistent with District goals and strategies. I then then filter the projects by considering their impacts to the safety of both employees and the public, their contribution to the reliability of service and finally the impact of project economics on customer rates.Prior to joining WLSSD I spent 29 years at Minnesota Power. 17 years in a variety of engineering roles and the remaining twelve years in management. I retired in 2018 as the manager of technical systems.I hold a B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, am a registered professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota and hold a State of Minnesota, Master A Electrician license.
