English Department Head & English Second Language Teacher
-
Mar 2021 - Mar 2022
In 2021, I decided to take a risk on something I've always wanted to do and move to South Korea for a year where I was an ESL teacher at Manseon Elementary School and Samri Elementary School. I was hired to be the head of the English department, creating a WBS to plan and allocate resources for a 1-year English curriculum, including extra-curricular activities, for 100 students between 1st - 6th grade that encouraged critical thinking utilizing project-based learning. I also led weekly brainstorming meetings with homeroom teachers to communicate issues and recommendations on classroom management plans to increase student focus and motivation, identify student needs, and achieve all lesson objectives. On the side, I coordinated monthly English Camps by recruiting multiple English teaching facilities throughout the Gwangju area to provide a fun environment for students to interact with the English language. Lead Marketing & Development Intern
-
Feb 2019 - Jun 2019
HAII is a company that is developing innovative digital therapeutics for the prevention and management of mental health and disease such as dementia, depression, and anxiety disorders. HAII is striving to overcome the limitations of previous medicines and drugs using IT technologies. HAII is developing software therapeutics based on peer-reviewed research without the use of any physical stimulation or drugs. During my time studying abroad in Korea, I decided to challenge myself by taking on an internship position with HAII. As a Marketing & Development Intern, the main project I was tasked with was introducing the AI Alzheimer chatbot, Saemi, into the U.S. market as Frankie, Facebook's first cognitive training AI chatbot. On the development aspect, I designed a new mascot design that would appeal to the U.S. market. I created various brain games, backed by research to improve cognitive health, and chatbot dialogues that would help form a genuine relationship. On the marketing side, I researched target markets, user trends, and competitors to create a strategic marketing strategy, mapping out necessary tasks and risk management. Marketing Volunteer
-
Oct 2018 - Jan 2019
As a leading nonprofit, the YMCA is committed to strengthening communities throughout the nation. Your local Y seeks to fill gaps in community services and develop activities, strengthening communities across Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Believing that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, the Y nurtures potential and brings people of diverse backgrounds together. The Y has a local presence and national reach, mobilizing local communities to effect lasting, meaningful change. During my role as a Marketing Volunteer at the Channel Islands YMCA, not only did I gain more experience in marketing, I also learned more about management in a big organization. I collaborated with managers to devise marketing and promotion strategies to raise awareness about the Y's programs in the community of Ventura through Facebook. I also utilized social media analytics tools such as Hootsuite to schedule posts, conduct trend analysis for social media content, and track engagement. Then I managed social media campaigns to popularize the Y's programs, especially the fitness classes, utilizing promotional materials. Social Media Intern
-
Jun 2018 - Sep 2018
The Korean American Community Services - Silicon Valley (KACS) mission is to improve the quality of life for all Korean-Americans in Santa Clara County, with a focus on those who are vulnerable including seniors and low-income individuals. KACS accomplishes this mission by increasing access to existing community resources and providing opportunities for community involvement and civic engagement. At this point in time, I have been with KACS for about 4 years as a youth leader volunteer. The director and I decided that it was time we expanded the organization's brand online presence and created the Social Media Program. My role was to collaborate with the director in the program's creation and get it off the ground and running. This involved creating a program plan that listed the program scope, schedule, and foundation for all communication channels. I was responsible for starting a strategic media plan as well, composing social media campaigns and a posting schedule for maximum efficiency. I also created monthly newsletters and social media posts discussing the organization's community resources and volunteer programs. Skills: Social Media Marketing, Program Management, Event Planning, Strategy, Content Creation, Social Media, Operations Processes, Adobe Creative Cloud

Alpha Phi Omega Representative
-
Sep 2017 - Apr 2018
The purpose of the UCSB Professional Fraternity Council is to facilitate collaboration and communication between the various member fraternities who make up the Council and to collectively represent the needs of those fraternities. The Professional Fraternity Council at UCSB exists to promote fellowship among professionally-minded students from all majors and in various professional fraternities by hosting events aimed to improve professionalism, serve the community, and provide networking opportunities. Although this was more of a leadership experience, this was the position that first sparked my interest in project/program management. My collegiate career as the representative for my community-service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, for Professional Fraternity Council at UC Santa Barbara helped me learn more about program management and marketing. I created and executed campus events such as the PFC Formal and Innovation Summit, raising awareness through incentives and marketing tactics to over 1000 students interested in professionalism, leadership, and scholarship. I also devised marketing strategies by collaborating with over ten campus organizations, consisting of fraternities and sororities, to fundraise money and organizing group presentations to various other clubs on campus. Then I utilized social media marketing to increase participants on my fraternity's, Alpha Phi Omega, social media account to over 500 followers through promotions and brand awareness strategies. Skills: Event Planning, Program Management, Social Media Marketing, Marketing Strategy
