• Develop exhibitions and exhibition-related materials. • Direct the ongoing strategy and plans for the Museum’s exhibition programming, with emphasis on broadening the understanding and interpretation of American art and its influence. • Coordinate all exhibition logistics and planning, including scheduling and timelines; loan forms; contracts; transportation carriers; insurance; security as required; and institutional, collector, and/or artistic relations and communications. • Establish exhibition budgets, including projecting revenue sources, in collaboration with other department heads. Manage approved budgets, and allocation of resources. • Manage the Museum galleries and art storage areas, including layout, display, and maintenance. • Plan, layout, install, and de-install the Museum’s original, touring, and collection exhibitions • Preparation of exhibition areas and installation of artwork, pedestals, vitrines, platforms, graphics, title wall vinyl, and exhibition labels • Coordinate the safe transport of art objects to and from the exhibition areas • Check and maintain condition and lighting of artwork on display • Research and write exhibition labels and informational graphic panels. • Collaborate to create collateral material for exhibitions including brochures, announcements, and web and social media content. Ensure the accuracy of all art-related information delivered to the public. • Collaborate to develop appropriate educational content strategies related to original, collection, and touring exhibitions to ensure engagement of diverse audiences. Develop and present docent and volunteer education materials. Ensure the relevance and accuracy of all education content. • Lead tours, give gallery talks, and conduct interviews to promote exhibitions. • Assist in identifying potential donors for exhibitions and acquisitions.
