      • Aug 2021 - Dec 2021

Employed to design, build and implement a multi-faceted Covid-19 management plan for a high-profile musical artist’s international farewell music tour. I took the business from having nothing in place, to having a robust & detailed plan and policies of how to protect the workforce and reduce the likelihood of outbreaks and impact of the virus to allow the tour to commence without excess constraints. Working against a backdrop of huge uncertainty in international travel and virus mutations; I quickly engaged medical specialists, partner businesses (venue, promotors, media companies) to ensure that reputational, medical, and financial risk were identified, catalogued, and mitigated with correct and proportional measures - thereby saving the artist and company huge sums of money from lost revenue. • Global risk advisor
      • Feb 2018 - Dec 2018

Approached to to research, catalogue and manage safety and security risks, for an organisation of 130 staff that works on 36 separately funded projects, in 15 countries, and required unique and pragmatic guidance on best practice for a multitude of different contexts. As the sole advisor to the board of senior trustees and organisational leadership on issues encapsulating staff safety, risk culture and training strategy I was required to exercise due diligence with suppliers and contractors on a regular basis. During my time leading the risk management function, I frequently deployed to challenging countries to conduct oversight visits and develop contingency and evacuation plans for new project proposals where media coverage is highly contentious (central Asia for example). Ultimately, this led to the adoption of new risk management practices including formalised risk assessment. Show less

      • Feb 2016 - Feb 2017

As the International Bureaux Management (IBM) team advisor on the BBC’s Safety, Security, and Resilience (SSR) team, my role as was to audit, advise and support the development of the business continuity and crisis management plan, included working on evacuation, hibernation and / or relocation plans for staff in reputationally challenging environments for staff in the BBC’s 84 bureaux. To facilitate this, I conducted frequent liaison with government offices (i.e., FCDO) and peer organisations to build & widen holistic understanding of global issues on the organisation’s dashboard and undertook continuous professional development to ensure I was always able to give up-to-date guidance. A notable instance in this role, was leading the organisation’s response plan to a potential large-scale humanitarian disaster (the anticipated Mosul Dam collapse), whereby I first detected the threat, championed the need to better understand the risk, and concisely communicated the risk to several heads-of-department to build and resource a multifaceted response.
