Classes taught include Latin, World Geography, Mythology, and AP Human Geography. Latin classes cover several years and include grammar, syntax, vocabulary, and morphology with emphasis on reading original authors and creating written sentences. Information about the ancient world and its cultures is introduced, and modern scholarship supplements ancient materials. Latin readings from ancient authors represent the culmination of the course sequence. World Geography focuses on the people who inhabit the world, the places they live, and how they interact with themselves and their physical environment in their lives. AP Human Geography studies the patterns and processes that involve humans and their use of the environment. It introduces students to several social studies topics and relates them to how the modern world functions. Students prepare for the AP test in the spring and earn can college credit. Mythology introduces several types of myths from many cultures. Scholarly approaches to cultural literature and oral traditions allow the students to exam myths critically and explore their meanings to their creators. Show less
