Designed and developed construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems operating from 4kV through 115kV for Leidos & Duke Engineering. Performed engineering calculations such as: structural analysis for wood pole loading, guying calculations, specifying conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans, and calculation of voltage drop and flicker. Assignments also included working with preparing tree trimming requests, facilitating permits and Right-of-Way acquisition, estimating costs, and customer advocacy such as acquiring easements. Worked on QAQC for the design work packages to ensure the highest quality of work is sent to our clients. Strong knowledge using BOUD, PoleForeman, and DSTAR SEDS. Show less

For my Senior Design Project, our goal was to optimize the FSAE formula car’s dynamics to max potential. As the team lead, Chris worked closely with the FSAE team to modify the impact attenuator and the bodywork. We created an aluminum honeycomb pyramid impact attenuator, with the primary focus on designing the lightest and strongest structure possible. We researched many previous FSAE papers to assist us in deciding the correct lightweight aluminum and acceptable test results. We also included modification to the vehicle's nose cone. The previous FSAE team failed to test and optimize their nose cone, which resulted in terrible performance. The main goal of the nose cone was to decrease the overall drag and increase the negative lift (downforce). These cars cannot reach over 60 mph, therefore, decreasing the drag constant as low as possible would benefit the car tremendously. Solidworks and Simscale were used extensively in designing the parts and data analysis, respectively. Show less
