      • Jan 2019 - Jan 2021

Selected to rebuild the strategic logistics advisor position to the OCAR leadership on matters related to materiel readiness, maintenance readiness, and equipping and divestiture. Coordinated across the OCAR and USARC staffs in order to prepare OCAR and USARC senior leaders, including Mr. Maxwell, MG O'Guinn, MG Roper, and Mr. Austin on USAR equities for logistics-related topics for General Officer Steering Committees (GOSCs). Integrated with the HQDA G4 and the US Army Reserve Command G4 to ensure the Army Reserve was nested in Army logistics policies, plans, and programs. Represented the OCAR leadership at senior Army logistics forums and senior budget deliberations. Led the DRIM's Army Watercraft Resource Planning Team, developing potential costs for the CAR for unfunded USAR requirements due to potential changes to the Army's watercraft divestiture strategy. Tracked watercraft divestiture issues and provided the DRIM team with updates on the status of divestiture and potential costs. Represented the USAR in the development of two new HQDA G4 initiatives that could have significant negative impact to the USAR- the Strategic Divestiture Initiative and the Repair Cycle Float Initiative. Both of these initiatives could negatively impact the USAR by sapping it of equipment vital to unit readiness. Provided the OCAR staff with the National Guard's process and methodology for reviewing, validating, and prioritizing National Guard and Reserve Equipping Appropriation (NGREA) requests. Participated in the review and validation of USAR NGREA submissions for Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021. • Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics (Deputy G4)

Served as the Deputy Chief of the ARNG's Installations, Logistics and Environment directorate, a GS-15 position. Provided daily administration of the G4's 101 Soldiers, 77 DACs and 36 contractors. Assists in the oversight of an annual budget in excess of $3.2 billion within 41 MDEPs in support of over 5,400 ARNG units and 341,000 Soldiers across the 50 states, 3 territories, and the District of Columbia. In this capacity, I represented the G4 at the Resource Validation Board, the Level II and I Program Budget Advisory Committees (PBAC), and weekly updates to the Director, Army National Guard. Leveraging the HQDA Comprehensive Review, I successfully split the ARNG G4 into two G Staff-level directorates; a purely logistics-based G4 and the Installations & Environment directorate (I&E). Previous ARNG G4s had tried unsuccessfully to accomplish this for six years. This finally provided proper functional alignment for the ARNG G4 and I&E staffs with their HQDA and State counterparts, and provided better visibility of I&E programs and issues within the National Guard Bureau senior leadership. Selected by the ARNG Chief of Staff to serve on two promotion boards. Reviewed and approved all DA Civilian hiring actions before staffing to the ARNG senior leadership for approval. The ARNG G4 rated me as "the best Deputy of the 4 I've had as G4." Show less

Personally selected by the Army National Guard Chief of Staff to take over as the head of the Staff Action Control Office for the Army National Guard Directorate of 1400 personnel during a moment of crisis for the office. I immediately identified critical issues that caused significant late staffing actions and rapidly introduced fixes that reduced the number of late actions by over 90% within weeks. The Director, Deputy Director, and the Chief of Staff of the Army National Guard personally relied on me to step in when high-visibility Headquarters, Department of the Army and Department of Defense staffing actions were in danger of not being completed in time, ensuring that they were. Personally oversaw the Army National Guard directorate's conversion to new office symbols to comply with Army Regulation 25-59 in six months, something the ARNG staff tried and failed to accomplish for the past three years. Working with the ARNG staff I created a comprehensive 430-page Organization and Functions manual for the directorate down to branch level. Working across the National Guard Bureau staff, I implemented several improvements to our tasking system which improved performance and significantly reduced the amount of late staffing actions, including high-priority staffing actions. During my tenure my office oversaw the completion of 12,400 staffing actions, and I served as the acting Division Chief, an O6/GS15 position, for 6 months, overseeing a staff of 10 military, civilian, and contractors.
