Major Projects: Design and build of Solar Powered Stirling Engine: Two other people and me designed and built a gamma type Stirling engine. Design was done in Autodesk Inventor, build was done in Wash U facilities. Design included estimating weights of plant material, picking materials to not interact with hydroponic solution or plants, part design to hold plants in place, motor characteristics, valves, tanks, etc. Supersonic Aircraft Cooling System: A solo project for thermal design. I designed a system to cool off supersonic aircraft in flight between Mach 1 and Mach 5. The report detailed operating conditions, efficiency, cooling potential, and other factors. This report can be obtained from me by any company interested in purchasing the system from me. Electric-Magnetic Gas Separator: Utilizes the electric potential of first ionization differences between gasses to charge one gas selectively, separate the gas by passing it over a magnetic field which pushes the charged gas out of the flow, and then grounds out the charge. Less efficient than membrane methods but fits several niche applications. Report on this technology also available for purchase. Stream Team Research Project: Group of four people including myself took a detailed position of Engleholm Stream which runs through St. Vincent Park south of the University of Missouri St. Louis. Full location and photographic data for stream health and make up and flow rates were taken and policy recommendations made form the data.
