The HLA Department supports the hospital’s Bone Marrow Transplant Department by utilizing state-of-the-art molecular diagnostic techniques test patients, family, and unrelated donors for Bone Marrow Transplant ▪ Utilized the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and other principles of Molecular Biology to perform HLA typing using several concurrent methods and cross-checking results utilizing the following methods: o Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) on the Illumina MiSeq, analyzed with Conexio Assign software o Sanger Sequence-Based Typing (SBT) with the AppliedBiosystems Genetic Sequencer 3500. Analyzed with Conexio Assign software o Sequence-Specific Oligonucleotide (SSO) and HLA antibody identification (ABID) utilizing both the Luminex 100 and Luminex FlexMap 3D platforms. Analyzed with OneLambda HLA Fusion o Sequence-Specific Primer (SSP) using AllSet+ Gold assays. Analyzed results using UniMatch Plus o Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) with the QuantStudio 7 and analyzed with Linkage Biosciences LinkSēq software ▪ Presentations: o Recently Selected as one of the winners of the Technologist Case Study Contest from across the country. Presented case study at the 32nd Annual One Lambda Advanced HLA Workshop. ▪ Managed and assisted with several method validation projects and co-authored several procedure manuals including: o Validating and installing HLA Fusion software upgrades o Sequence-Specific Oligonucleotide (SSO) C Locus HR assay to the C Locus XR assay o Novel HLA Locus DQA1 SSP tray o Instrumentation upgrade validation from Luminex 100 to the Luminex FlexMap 3D platform o Managed laboratory's document and file archival process o Managed project to implement and maintain laboratory's Microsoft SharePoint internal website Show less
