Our innovative team designed and built the worlds first certified wave energy converter. To achieve this milestone we built and deployed an instrumented and grid connected wave energy converter off Portugal’s coast and analysed the results to validate the design methods. We also built a facility to test the power take off systems at full scale to validate performance and reliability. The technology processes were upgraded to follow engineering best practice, this lead to ISO 9001 certified quality management system. We also developed and executed a certification programme that satisfied the classification society. This milestone was essential in securing new projects and financing. Show less
