  GEMSA exists as a jv between two large global commercial real estate companies, CBRE and GE Real Estate. They provide loan servicing for commercial properties, management for major real estate clients, and act as power buyers for property owners. At GEMSA, we were contracted out to directly support GE Capital Real Estate. There, we worked with Asset Managers, Underwriters, Asset Analysts, and other members of their real estate team. Duties included forecasting future cash flows and valuing in excess of 1,000 debt and equity assets across the United States. Property types were mixed and included office, multi-family, retail, hotel, industrial, mobile home, and golf courses. Reporting responsibilities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis were performed. Side projects often involved running scenarios/sensitivities to project valuation risks and NOI variances depending on upside/downside. Supervisory role served to audit and assist other analysts on the team alongside everyday checks & balances.
