  Negotiated comparable in the aggregate benefit package due to PBF acquisition of Shell Martinez Refinery.Partnered with Executive Leadership Team to lobby against California Air District Regulation 6 Rule 5 necessitating refineries lower particulate matter emissions. The regulation would result in several refineries closing down due to inability to meet requirements.   Elected by membership to serve six (6) consecutive terms as United Steelworkers Chairman over a span of fifteen (15) years.Chief Spokesperson for six (6) collective bargaining agreements. Worked with company to develop and implement a joint health, safety, and environmental team to ensure union membership had insight and voice regarding health and safety matters. Managed team of four (4) labor representatives tasked with joint health, safety, and environmental performance. This team evaluated health and safety concerns of union members, conducted root cause analyses investigations, and audited policies. Built relationships and managed expectations during contract negotiations resulting in ratification of all collective bargaining agreements negotiated as Chief Spokesperson. Managed all steps of grievance process. Over a span of fifteen (15) years, took thirty-one (31) cases to arbitration and won twenty-eight (28).Conducted joint investigations with company regarding alleged employee conduct violations. Selected to attend United Steelworkers Leadership School (2008-2011), a robust program focused on developing high potential Labor Leaders.Wrote and conducted training for all Bay Area Steelworkers which taught new stewards the basics of Union rights and responsibilities.
