  BasildON Creative People & Places is a £1.3m Arts Council England funded programme to seed community-led cultural commissioning in a Borough with one of the lowest cultural participation rates in the country. Supported by the BasildON Consortium, a partnership of public, private, education, culture and community sector partners, the programme will seek to build a lasting system that unleashes the creativity, curiosity and stories of Basildon's residents in ways that matter to them. As Interim Sustainability Manager I am laying the foundations for the programme to stand the test of time. From ensuring that its governance models give equitable and meaningful weight to local people, businesses and stakeholders to making sure our methods of fundraising are suitably diversified, our artists, organisations and infrastructure within the borough are being supported and the programme is making a positive impact in the fight against climate change. I helped deliver some of the companies most significant strategies including: - Writing the Cultural Placemaking Strategy for Basildon Town Centre for client BTCM Ltd that has subsequently helped unlock over £2m of cultural investment from local and national supporters and laid the foundations for a new culture-centred Local Authority Masterplan. - Delivering strategic reporting, research and community engagement advice as part of the team that brokered a new cultural partnership between Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Wembley Park for client Quintain, as well as Wembley Park Arts, a new system of cultural governance for the £3bn regeneration project. - Creating a cultural placemaking strategy that drew together strengths of science, culture and health as part of a team supporting the successful planning application for the Island Quarter for clients Lavignac and Conygar. A regeneration project dubbed the 'Kings Cross of Nottingham'. - Research, vision and strategy development for 23 other cultural strategies and projects including in Australia, Middle East, USA, Italy and UK. As project manager my role is to provide the optimum platform for the facilitators to activate sessions, promoting the project within the local community and schools, managing relationships with families, co-ordinating the collection of evaluation data for funders, ensuring the project is celebrated and shared publicly, and providing on site support within sessions.   I worked with the Migration Museum Project to support their exciting move to new premises in the Workshop in Vauxhall. I helped the project in establishing the organisation in the local area around Vauxhall and Lambeth through project management of flagship engagement programmes such as Keepsakes, working with ESOL students at Morley College to develop an exhibition at the museum; Spicy Eggs & Jungle Chai - Remembering Calais, a day long festival of music, theatre and culture with people who lived, worked and were affected by the Calais refugee camp; and Humanae...work in progress part of the major global project of artist and photographer Angelica Dass working with London participants for the No Turning Back exhibition.
