After excelling in my first internship, ZSL invited me back for the following year. I was responsible for collating and managing data for a research project. This was contributing towards a forthcoming publication on conducting a global climate change vulnerability analysis for reptiles. I learnt advanced skills in data manipulation of large datasets and spatial analyses in RStudio. This further developed my skills in R coding, synthesis of literature and managing large datasets. During my first placement, I was responsible for producing cephalopod distribution maps for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species on QGIS and ArcGIS Pro. This was followed by a two day workshop of how to assess the extinction risk of species following the IUCN Red List criteria.
