Forest-PLUS is a USAID-funded project to help strengthen REDD+ capacity in India, collaborating closely with the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). Forest-PLUS works at national, state and site levels to:• address sectoral barriers to the adoption of REDD+;• build human and institutional capacity to implement REDD+;• develop and deploy tools, techniques, and methods to improve forest ecosystem management and increase carbon sequestration in forests;• develop and deploy methods for forest carbon inventory and reference baselines; and• analyze and implement social and economic incentives for REDD+ policies and practices.Forest-PLUS is piloting REDD+ activities at sites in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Sikkim.
