Stock Controller

- During my time at David Village Lighting, I have been responsible for ensuring that meticulous daily and cyclic counts of stock have been conducted accurately and verified in a timely fashion. In addition, I have overseen investigations into variances in stock and been in charge of reporting the results of these to all relevant departments and members of staff- My duties have meant regularly working with, and being accountable to, senior stake-holders for a number of my responsibilities. Examples of these include liaising with the purchasing officer to report on and resolve discrepancies in stock, as well as suggesting improvements that could be made as regards the business’ stock handling processes- Whilst in this position I have worked with the purchasing officer in facilitating the maintenance of appropriate stock levels in a business with both fluctuating demand and, in the face of Brexit and the impact of Covid-19, an increasingly difficult and fractured supply chain- In addition to these responsibilities, I have had to ensure that all paperwork, records and reports were completed and filed in accordance with both the company policy and the company’s legal obligations

- Working for the NHS Test & Trace Vaccination Booking Program during the height of the pandemic meant meeting extremely strict targets, in terms of the number of outbound calls and inbound calls, made in order to arrange, reschedule and explain appointments to callers from across the UK- I regularly exceeded the high targets set and prided myself on always maintaining a high level of service for callers who were often highly distressed, unable to recall personal details, or did not have a good level of spoken English. My ability to quickly establish a rapport with callers, set distressed callers at ease, and explain details in a calm and clear manner meant that I frequently scored the highest caller satisfaction ratings out of my colleagues each week- Maintaining a professional service was particularly challenging when frequently faced with abusive members of the public who would become animated regarding things outside of our control, such as the location / availability of their nearest vaccination centre. Despite this, I always followed protocol and aided callers to the best of my abilities wherever possible

Receptionist/Coach

- As an avid climber, working at the Climbing Works was an opportunity to combine passion with work. Whilst working in my capacity as a coach, I regularly ran group sessions for climbers, including workshops for children aged 5-14. As well as helping clients to develop proper climbing technique, I had to communicate key safety principles to all participants and was ultimately responsible for the health and safety of those on my sessions- In my capacity as a receptionist, I had to sign in existing customers, check the knowledge of climbers coming from different centres, and sign up new customers to our systems. This included processing personal data in accordance with GDPR regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018

- At GoBeyond I had to resolve customer queries by providing appropriate information to clients as quickly as possible whilst maintaining the accuracy of the details provided. Furthermore, I was responsible for generating further opportunities for the business by quickly building rapport and discovering any additional needs of clients, all whilst answering their questions about services already being provided to them and mitigating any potential complaints- In many cases, work involved liaising with senior members of staff in order to provide bespoke services and solutions for clients, particularly those deemed to be high risk clients. This meant not only being alive to the intrinsic business needs of a range of clients, but having a deep knowledge of GoBeyond’s products and services, as well as an awareness of the company’s risk appetite- As well as having to apply company policy in the face of a breadth of customers and scenarios, the work involved monitoring and maintaining compliance with FCA regulations, a task made especially difficult when often providing custom products to clients
