In my position I am responsible to recruit, train, lead and coach a team of 50 kitchen hands, eight shift supervisors and two high performing kitchen managers in meeting EML’s business needs. In this role I am responsible for ensuring my team is fully staffed and that performance conversations happen in regular rhythms, so my team operates at a high standard and delivers a strong product. In addition to the day-to-day operations, my role is critical in ensuring Health and Safety is top of mind and that we are meeting all health and safety obligations, Working alongside fellow managers in contributing to the development and implementation of strategic business solutions. When I joined Eat My Lunch, I observed there were inefficiencies present in the operations due to communication issues between management and staff. Liaising with our HR business partners I actioned routine performance conversations and general check ins which allowed me to develop a healthy rapport with staff, in time I had significantly reduced cases of time-theft and greatly improved the attendance ratio of my teams. In this role I was responsible for the following: To hire, train lead and coach a fully staffed team of efficient factory hands ensuring they met production targets and fulfilled the business needs of Pendarves Packing. Monitoring, and the reconciliation of inwards raw materials and finished goods. Ensuring the adherence of H&S processes and the company wellness policy and expectations. Communicating with and working alongside fellow managers in contributing to the development of the company. When I came aboard the job, there was an inefficient team of 13 factory hands, who were failing to meet the business needs of Pendarves , throughout my first year the processes I developed and changes I implemented allowed me to reduce the group to a core six who consistently met all targets for time and profitability.
